Abstract: The article examines the general characteristics of the meat production industry in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), analyzes the number of farm animals, production of livestock and poultry in live weight by farm category and individual species for the period from 2002 to 2022. It has been established that the region has a fairly high level of meat consumption, which is not provided by its own production. A forecast was made for the number of farm animals, production of livestock and poultry in slaughter weight and the level of self-sufficiency in meat until 2032 by analytically aligning the series using polynomial, exponential, logarithmic trend models, which showed that, despite positive medium-term forecasts, it is impossible to achieve the level of self-sufficiency specified by the Strategy socio-economic development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) until 2032 turned out to be impossible. To increase the efficiency of meat production and meet the population's needs for meat through local production, it is recommended to develop beef cattle breeding.
