Abstract: Abstract. Each category of farms is characterized by specific problems that impede their development, which poses certain threats to Russia's food security. It was established that in 2018-2022. There is a decrease in the share of households in the structure of agricultural products by 6.9 percentage points. Households of the population assume more significant labour costs of workers, which is due to the small degree of mechanization of labour and the small size of production. The structure of products produced by households is dominated by crop production (on average, in 2018-2022, its share was 52.6%). The reduction in the share of livestock products in the total volume of products produced by households is associated with a reduction in the number of livestock. The average marketability by types of agricultural products produced on households increased - from 25.2% in 2018 to 26.2% in 2022. Households are the main producers of potatoes and vegetables in the country (61.4% and 46.5% of the total production of this type of food in farms of all categories in 2022, respectively). Almost all honey is produced by households, their share during 2018-2022 on average, it accounted for 94.2% of the total honey production in the Russian Federation.
