Abstract: The trends in the formation of product flows in the fishery commodities market of the regions of the world and the regional market of the Novosibirsk region are analyzed in article. On a global scale, over the 20-year period, an increase in fresh fish consumption is observed, due to the improvement of logistics processes and the increase in aquaculture production. Moreover, the most valuable types of seafood (shrimp, salmon, and tuna) are mainly served the markets of the most developed regions, and small pelagic fish species are sold in large quantities to low-income consumers in developing countries. The structure of production of fish products and their distribution, the degree of competition between market agents, the profitability of sales of various types of fish products were taken as the main determinants characterizing product flows. In Russian exports, fish without deep processing accounts for about 80‰, while 70‰ of imports come from inexpensive frozen fish. It has been revealed that the market for suppliers of fresh-frozen imported fish is highly concentrated in the region, which is distant from the places where aquatic bio resources are harvested. In order to increase competition in the fresh fish sector, the development of local aquaculture is necessary.
