Abstract: Possibility of the state to remain competitive in the world market depends on the level of education of society. The agriculture of the Russian Federation is characterized by the lowest level of education in comparison with other branches of economy. The problem of training specialists for the agrarian sector is reviewed in the article. The reasons for the lack of skilled workers in agricultural enterprises, low levels of education of employees of enterprises are analyzed. The main causes are low wages in the agricultural sector and the reluctance of graduates of agricultural universities to work in this sector. We also consider the problem of the quality of education graduates, inconsistencies his demands of modern production. The causes of low quality of education are a low level of student’s knowledge of agricultural universities and poor equipment of the universities. The basic ways of solving the problem of the agricultural education quality are: to increase the prestige of agrarian profession by increasing the income of relevant specialists and improving standard of living rural people; the elaboration of training programs for agrarian which relevant to modern level of agrarian sector development; implementation of these programs in universities with a high level of equipment, and provision highly qualified personnel. Potential employers should be involved in the educational process.
