Typology of the predicted consequences of global climate change in the agro-industrial complex of Russia

The relevance of assessing and predicting the consequences of climate change is confirmed by objective processes recorded by the world's leading research centers. The results of summarizing the consequences of global climate change led to the conclusion that approaches to their assessment and forecasting have been constantly evolving over the past decades by including new environmental, economic and social phenomena. The purpose of this study was to systematize and generalize the consequences of the impact of climate change on the Russian agro-industrial complex. Thus, based on an analysis of domestic and foreign publications, as well as a generalization of practice, the work proposes a typology of the consequences of climate change in the agricultural sector, which is based on two main groups of characteristics: common to all sectors of the economy and specific, characteristic of the agro-industrial complex. As general signs, they are proposed to characterize: the state; manifestation time interval; scales; preventability. Based on specific characteristics, the consequences in the agro-industrial complex are divided by nature into environmental, social, economic, as well as by types of climate security. The authors argue that the consequences of climate change in the agricultural sector must be assessed and predicted in conjunction with all components of technologically and economically interconnected industries (sectors) of the economy, as well as workers, farmers and the rural population employed in this area. The scientific significance of the research results lies in expanding and concretizing the understanding of the impact of climate change on the functioning and development of the agro-industrial complex, which will make it possible to assess and predict the entire range of consequences, as well as develop proposals for adaptation of this sector of the economy.

Economic adaptation of small enterprises of horticultural agribusiness: problems and ways to solve them

The goal of the economic adaptation of small agribusiness, specialized in the production of horticultural products, is to ensure the acquisition of a new state that at least does not reduce its economic potential in the context of high dynamism of the external economic environment. The article presents the author's vision of indicators reflecting the direction of adaptation measures in the fields of production, financial and economic situation of fruit and berry producers, including the level of business reproduction, growth rates of investments, receivables and payables, production volumes and sales of fruits and berries. The conducted studies showed a fundamentally new approach to the organization of horticultural agribusiness on a small scale, which involves increasing opportunities to increase domestic production potential with state support for investment activities, increasing the financial burden both from the standpoint of debt burden and reducing the resources involved in economic turnover, due to the growing receivables of counterparties and the presence of a high fluctuation in the growth of production volumes and the sale of fruit and berry products. The article provides measures to improve the economic adaptation of small horticultural agribusiness, including measures to improve inter-economic and inter-sectoral interaction with counterparties, information support for capital-intensive work in organizing garden turnover, and the use of a strategic approach to managing industry development.
