Abstract: In article the main historical stages of development of cooperation in Russia are considered, its role and value for branch and country economy is emphasized. Domestic and foreign experiment shows what exactly the cooperation covering the main part of country people, allows to relieve peasants of operation from the trade capital. In modern conditions it is necessary to make use of historical experience of development of cooperation and to consider progress and errors of the past. The author draws a conclusion about need of creation of an effective network of supplying and marketing, credit, production and other cooperatives, providing to peasants of the organized sale of their production, equivalence of an exchange between the village and the city as main way of a conclusion of branch of their crisis.
