Abstract: Tendencies of social and economic development of agrarian and industrial complex define requirement of the objective analysis of the occurred transformations, caused by the special importance, multiplicative character of the agricultural branch defining tendencies of development of all national economy. In article from a position of branch aspect problems of modern economy of agrarian sector come to light, the attention is focused on development of the Volga federal district. The author carries out the index analysis of gross collecting and comes to a conclusion about need of expansion of a grain wedge in the zernoproizvodyashchikh regions.
