Abstract: The author analyzes state of the economy of Russia and agriculture in 2013. During the analysis negative tendencies (reduction of export, profit, a rise in prices, inflation, high cost of the credits) are revealed as positive (growth of a salary, the income of the population, the retail commodity turnover, acceptable unemployment rate, increase in production of grain, meat of pigs and a bird), and. The author draws a conclusion that the main reason for negative tendencies - weakness of the state economic policy. Its change, namely, more resolute support of investments, real sector, refusal of market fundamentalism is required.
