Abstract: The issues of specialization and location of agricultural production in the Far North are studied on the example of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Based on data for 2020–2022, specialization coefficients for livestock production were calculated for 36 municipalities. The districts were grouped by the degree of specialization (from insufficient to deep). The districts with deep specialization (groups 4–6) account for more than half of gross livestock output. In the Arctic districts, livestock farming remains a key economic sector. The proposed grouping can be used by authorities when making decisions on the creation of local production development territories within the framework of the Decree of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) No. 269.
