Abstract: The effectiveness of state regional agricultural policy depends on how fully the conditions for the functioning of agricultural production taken into account. As a rule, national statistical indicators do not always reflect interregional disparities. As an assessment tool to identify these differences, the article considers the volume of agricultural production per capita in the region. This indicator smoothes out the differences in the scale of territories and population, and reflects the real production potential of the country's regions. The authors analyzed the interregional differentiation in terms of grain production, identified the existing production trends, and substantiated the use of the obtained results in the development of state regional agricultural policy measures. Each type of region requires its own priorities within the framework of the state's regional agricultural policy, ranging from the development of production infrastructure and deep processing facilities in regions with high levels of production to support measures that compensate for the limited availability of domestic production in regions with low levels.
