Abstract: The indicators used in this study were consolidated from the annual financial statements of 14 poultry farms in the Saratov Region. An increase in capital-labour ratio and return on assets was observed; significant correlations were identified between the amounts of payments related to the acquisition, creation, modernization, reconstruction, and preparation for use of non-current assets and return on assets, production costs, gross profit, egg production volume, and the costs of maintaining fixed assets in egg production and incubation. The most important trends identified are a reduction in personnel and specific labour intensity, increased energy efficiency, improved biological safety parameters and the quality of technological processes, an increase in average wages and the number of livestock served by one poultry farm worker, and an increase in egg yield due to both extensive and intensive development directions. The first priority for the development of regional poultry farming is to transform poultry production from a consistently unprofitable to profitable position; the second is to increase and return incubation volumes to previous levels; and the third is to maintain positive dynamics and improve key performance indicators in egg production. The scientific novelty lies in the proposal of a methodology for applying a system of indicators to assess trends and identify priorities for the development of egg and meat poultry farming and incubation, including the calculation of consolidated industry-specific natural, cost, relative, specific indicators characterizing the performance of the categories under study, and finding the closeness of the relationship between the factor and the performance indicators.
