Abstract: The article developed a methodology for ensuring the balanced development of the grain and product subcomplex based on ESG risk management. The relevance of the ESG approach for the agro-industrial complex in the context of high volatility in grain production, climate change, and personnel and management constraints is substantiated. A conceptual model of the methodology is proposed, which includes goals, classification of ESG risks, management tools, a monitoring system, and a feedback mechanism. A hierarchical classification of 12 key risks in the environmental, social, and managerial areas is developed, with the disclosure of cause-and-effect relationships. An algorithm for managing ESG risks has been developed, which includes the stages of identification, assessment, prioritization, strategy selection, implementation of tools, monitoring, and adjustment. A system of 18 quantitative indicators with baseline and target values has been proposed for assessing the level of risks and the effectiveness of measures. The practical significance of the methodology for agricultural producers, the government, investors, and society has been demonstrated through its economic, social, and environmental effects.
