Abstract: The purpose of the study is to provide a comprehensive assessment of the dynamics and characteristics of the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Central Black Earth macro-region based on key indicators that characterize the financial, economic, and social development of the agricultural sector for the period 2019-2024. The study yielded the following main results: a direct relationship was established between the volume of state support and the dynamics of agricultural production, but existing regional disparities in the distribution of budget allocations were identified; the leaders in agricultural production (crop production and livestock production) were identified; negative trends were identified in the profitability of crop production, while livestock production demonstrated positive growth, indicating the need for a differentiated approach to state support; it was found that the share of unprofitable agricultural organizations increased in most regions, this indicates an exacerbation of the crisis in the industry, and it is noted that the steady decline in the average annual number of people employed in agriculture in the Central Black Earth macroregion poses a threat to the depopulation of rural areas and requires immediate government intervention. Based on these findings, the authors propose specific measures to improve the state agricultural policy in the macroregion, aimed at addressing the identified disparities and ensuring sustainable socioeconomic development in the Central Black Earth macroregion.
