Abstract: Increasing the resource potential of agricultural enterprises and maintaining the stability of reproduction processes in the agricultural sector are among the priority strategic guidelines for the development of domestic agriculture. The achievement of these goals is a necessary condition for guaranteed food independence of the state. To maximize the potential of the resource potential, it is necessary to carry out its regular assessment, which will allow timely identification of the strengths and weaknesses of agricultural organizations, identify reserves for growth and optimize the use of resources. The authors have developed and substantiated a methodological toolkit for diagnosing the resource potential of agricultural enterprises, based on a systematic methodology and providing for data aggregation in two key areas — the stage of resource accumulation and the stage of their involvement in production. The quantitative expression of the category under study is achieved by calculating an integral index, the construction algorithm of which varies depending on the specific tasks facing the researcher. The proposed model allows the use of both two and five particular parameters, which creates the prerequisites for a multidimensional analysis and increases the relevance of the results obtained. In the first case, the analysis is based on the components of the resource potential, which allows us to simultaneously take into account the availability of resources and the effectiveness of their use. In the second case, the object of evaluation is specific types of resources, considered from the perspective of their volume and effectiveness of application in the production process. The approbation of the methodological approach based on the actual data of the region made it possible to differentiate agricultural organizations by an integral indicator of resource potential assessment, to determine the spatial heterogeneity of resource potential in the regional context, which is the basis for the formation of targeted management decisions and segmentation of organizations, taking into account the optimization of state support and the development of strategic measures for the development of resource potential in agriculture.
