Abstract: This article provides a detailed study of the status and development prospects of peasant farms in the Republic of Bashkortostan for the period from 2010 to 2024. The study focuses on the key trends and factors influencing the functioning and growth of the region's agricultural sector using a variety of data collection and analysis methods, including reviewing official Rosstat statistics, collecting and processing data from the republic's Ministry of Agriculture, and conducting a farmer survey. The results demonstrate positive trends in quantitative growth. Over this period, the number of registered farms nearly doubled, reaching over 8,400 units, demonstrating a steady expansion of agricultural production. However, it is more important to note the qualitative changes that occurred during this time period. For example, the total volume of agricultural production increased severalfold, exceeding 30 billion rubles. This significant increase was made possible by the introduction of new technologies, infrastructure development, and government support. The article places particular emphasis on the role of the agricultural sector in ensuring food security in the region. For example, according to research data, small-scale farms, including peasant farms, play a key role in the production of essential foodstuffs such as potatoes, vegetables, and milk. These products form the basis of the diet of residents of Bashkortostan and neighboring regions, ensuring the stability of the domestic market. Despite the successes achieved, the authors note a number of serious problems hindering further growth and increasing the competitiveness of this category of farms. Key constraints include a shortage of qualified personnel, a lack of financial resources, and poor infrastructure in rural areas. Insufficient funding for modernization projects and support for beginning farmers also negatively impact the overall health of the sector. To address these identified challenges, specific government support measures are proposed. These include improved lending terms, grants for beginning farmers, and expanded opportunities for vocational education and retraining of agricultural workers. These measures are aimed at ensuring sustainable growth in labor productivity and an overall improvement in the quality of products. The research results are of interest to government agencies, the scientific community, and participants in the agro-industrial complex.
