Abstract: The article analyzes the number of cattle, including cows in agricultural organizations of the region, milk production and dairy products of the Penza region. An analysis of dairy cattle breeding over the past five years shows an increase in milk production in farms of all categories due to agricultural organizations and a simultaneous reduction in production in peasant (farmer) farms and households. Using statistical grouping methods, it has been revealed that where the technical equipment of enterprises is higher, there is a higher level of capital provision. In dairy-producing agricultural organizations, in which the stock supply per 100 hectares of agricultural land is more than 10100 thousand rubles, sales revenue per 100 hectares of agricultural land is 17.5% higher compared to those organizations where this indicator is 8716.3 thousand rubles. It has been established that with increasing availability of equipment, the possibilities of increasing production potential increase. The volume of production of certain types of dairy products in the region is presented. The production of liquid processed milk, including milk for baby food in the Penza region in 2024 decreased by 6.0% compared to 2020. The provision of milk and dairy products to the population of the region remains at a low level. At the rate of 325 kg [1], its consumption in 2024 was 239 kg per capita in the Penza Region. The authors have formulated proposals for the further development of dairy cattle breeding in the region, which determine the need for their own raw milk up to 494 thousand tons. t by all categories of farms.
