Abstract: The main trends in the development of the greenhouse industry are the growth of production capacities and geographical advancement to the Urals and Siberia, the consolidation of large and promising projects, diversification and re-profiling of the greenhouse business for growing flowers or berries. The article discusses the production of berries in protected soil and evaluates its effectiveness. There was an increase in the production of berries in protected soil, mainly blueberries and raspberries, a decrease in imports of fresh berries, and an equalization of prices between domestic and imported products. The greatest revenue from the sale is provided by growing berries in partially protected soil - tunnels. Comparison of the production of raspberries, blackberries and garden strawberries in tunnels showed a higher profitability of garden strawberries’ production.
