Abstract: The complexity of addressing the practical issues of agrarian tourism development lies in its interconnection with another type of economic activity, namely agricultural production. In today's context, it is necessary to distinguish agrarian tourism within the framework of the conceptual apparatus and the composition of economic activities, and to identify and justify the tools for state support of agrarian tourism. The paper systematizes concepts in terms of agricultural and agrarian tourism. The main differences between agrarian tourism and rural tourism in general are identified, general problems of developing these types of tourism are outlined, and distinctive problems of developing agrarian tourism are separately highlighted, such as: a ban on the construction of tourist accommodation facilities on agricultural land; the need for the entrepreneur conducting this type of activity to maintain the status of an agricultural producer; the specifics and complexity of organizing «industrial excursions». Separate measures of state regulation of development of agricultural tourism at various levels of the economic system are proposed: macro-, meso- and micro-levels; respectively, at the level of the economy as a whole and individual types of activity, at the level of the region of its territories, at the level of economic entities. As a measure of state regulation of the development of agricultural tourism at the macroeconomic level, we propose to single out agricultural tourism as an independent type of economic activity. As measures of state regulation at the meso level, it is proposed to use preferences for the development of agricultural tourism in rural areas, including pilot rural areas for the development of agricultural tourism. As a measure of state regulation of the development of agricultural tourism at the microeconomic level, we propose revising the criteria for classifying economic entities as agricultural producers.
