Abstract: This article demonstrates the need to develop a new paradigm for the development of domestic agricultural science, considering current challenges and threats in the agro-industrial complex. International experience in developing concepts for the development of agricultural science in the current economic environment is examined. It is established that the Chinese concept for the development of agricultural science represents a hybrid model combining strict state planning, sufficient and timely funding, and the commercialization of scientific solutions. The American concept represents a flexible, market-oriented, and highly effective ecosystem in which the state determines the "rules of the game" and funds fundamental science, in which universities conduct scientific research and train personnel, and private businesses invest in applied research and implement scientific developments in the real sector of the economy. The concept for the development of agricultural science in the EU can be characterized as integrated, economically oriented, and socially responsible. Drawing on Russian and international experience, this paper formulates the goal of the concept for the development of domestic agricultural science, defines the principles of its formation, mission, and priority areas of scientific research. A framework for the development of agricultural science in the country through 2036 has been developed, and its main components have been outlined. Proposals have been formulated for the development and production of a wide range of high-tech products and the creation of conditions for their marketing and consumption domestically and internationally, thereby restoring the full innovation cycle in the industry. It is noted that the development of agricultural science is a complex, multifactorial process that depends on the joint efforts of the government (development of agricultural policy), business (funding of applied research), and the scientific community (development of scientific solutions and personnel training).
