Abstract: The paper analyzes the specialization of peasant farms in the agro-landscape areas of the Irkutsk Region, taking into account natural and climatic, economic, infrastructural, state, and historical and cultural factors. The methodological basis of the work was the methodology of agro-landscape zoning by V.I. Solodun, on the basis of which eight specialized zones (agro-landscape districts) of the Irkutsk Region were identified, taking into account the climatic features and geographical location. The results of the study confirm the existing differentiation of specialization: the forest-steppe regions demonstrate a pronounced focus on crop production, while the taiga and mountainous territories retain their traditional livestock orientation. The study aims to improve the efficiency of peasant farms by adapting their production structure to the natural and economic conditions of each agro-landscape region. The study identifies key agricultural centers in the region that have the most favorable combination of natural and economic factors, along with a well-developed infrastructure base. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the development of practical recommendations for improving the specialization of peasant farms, orienting the production structures of small farms to agro-landscape features that promote the implementation of adaptive agricultural technologies that take into account climatic and geographical conditions, and improving logistics infrastructure and government support.
