Abstract: At the initial stage of the research, the author, based on the analyzed analytical information from official sources, attempted to systematize the available data on business process blocks. Based on the formulated system of indicators, grouping features for each block were identified. Using the method of grouping with unequal intervals, a typological grouping of regions was carried out. The characteristics of the obtained results are given. For the typology of the subjects of the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation by the level of development of the supporting block of processes, the author's approach of sectoral visualization was used, which made it possible to group the regions taking into account cross-data in order to identify trends in the field of investment and innovation solutions. Despite the identified patterns, the author emphasizes that there is a lack of analytical information in terms of narrowly focused aspects of the development of the grain product subcomplex, which implies the transfer of general economic trends in the development of the regional economy to the studied industry level. Which served as the basis for developing a system of indicators of investment and innovation development of the grain product subcomplex of the agro-industrial complex. The obtained results can serve as a valuable auxiliary information source for the formation of state support strategies and the development of regional programs in the field of agro-industrial complex, which will contribute to the sustainable development of the agro-economy both at the level of the subjects and at the level of the country.
