Abstract: This paper is devoted to the scientific, practical and methodological analysis of the economic justification for creating a "smart" digital dairy farm. The study focuses on the implementation of a ready-made digital solution for managing the M2M network (including robotic milking systems and automated herd management) based on an existing agricultural enterprise specializing in milk production. The main goal is to identify the specifics of the digital transformation of small agricultural enterprises in the process of their integration into the digital economy and the formation of digital business ecosystems necessary for the integrated management of agricultural production, as well as to identify the conditions under which the deployment of a digital ecosystem based on M2M technology will meet the requirements of economic feasibility. As an experimental platform for obtaining practical results, real small agricultural enterprises of the region were used, where advanced scientific and production solutions were tested and ERP systems of domestic development were implemented. During the study, the data necessary for assessing the prospects for obtaining scientific and production experience and developing practical recommendations for the implementation of modern digital technologies in small agricultural production were collected and analyzed.
