Abstract: The article presents an analysis of the current state of animal husbandry in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), which occupies a leading position in the agro-industrial sector of the region. Based on current statistical data and industry indicators, the main trends and problems of the industry development are identified, with special attention paid to crisis phenomena in dairy cattle breeding: reduction in production, decrease in productivity and chronic unprofitability. The main problems identified are the inefficiency of the current subsidy system and the low level of mechanization and automation of livestock complexes. The paper proposes a set of measures to improve support, including adjusting rates, introducing incentive coefficients and technological modernization, which is confirmed by the positive experience of leading farms, calculating the standard cost of livestock products of typical dairy farms with production technology adapted to the characteristics of the region.
