Abstract: The Belgorod Region is a traditional agricultural region, demonstrating high rates of crop production, the share of which reached 92% by 2022. Analysis of the dynamics of key performance indicators K(F)The Belgorod region in the livestock industry has shown a significant lag behind the national indicators, while the region is slightly inferior to its neighbors in the Central Federal District, and surpasses the macroregion in a number of markers. The horse population in the Belgorod Region increased by 5.6 percentage points in 2007-2022 and amounted to 7.4%, while in the Central Federal District it reached 4.9%, and the Russian average was 29.9%. The growth rates of the share of cattle in the Belgorod region and in the Central Federal District are almost the same and for the period under study amounted to 7.6% (+5.0) and 9.0% (+5.5) percentage points, respectively, the national 16.7% (+11.0%). The growth rate of the goat population is the same everywhere and amounted to about 2.0 percentage points in 2007-2022.In the Belgorod region and the Central Federal District, 2.0% and 2.7%, respectively; in the Russian Federation – 13.7% (an increase of 2.2% compared to 2007). In terms of the share of sheep, the Belgorod region, with an indicator of 5.5%, is inferior to both the macro-region, in which the share is 16.3%, and the Russian Federation as a whole, with an indicator of 42.0%. The share of poultry in the region did not change during the study period and remained at the level of 0.1%; this is lower than the values for the Central Federal District – 0.7% and for the Russian Federation – 1.6%. The proportion of pigs in K(F)X decreased in the Central Federal District by 2.0 percentage points and amounted to 0.1%, in the Russian Federation by 4.4 percentage points and amounted to 0.8%, and in the Belgorod region, it is completely absent.
