Abstract: The article is devoted to an important problem – the innovative development of the agricultural sector of the country's economy based on conceptual directions, the implementation of which in economic practice will ensure technological sovereignty in the industry. Based on a survey of experts from the agricultural practice of Yakov and Partners LLC, the authors analyzed the problems that agricultural producers face in the transition to innovative development of agricultural production. The paper proposes a model for ensuring technological sovereignty in the agricultural sector based on the conceptual directions of the innovative development of agriculture. The reasons for the dependence of domestic agricultural production on imports of seed and breeding materials, machinery, technologies, plant protection products, veterinary drugs and other high-tech products are analyzed. The importance of the national projects "Science and Universities", "Technological provision of food security" and the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Agriculture for 2017-2030 in the creation of innovative infrastructure in the field of agriculture is shown. Methodological approaches to improving agricultural education are considered, the vector of development of which is aimed at a radical transformation-the transition from a model of mass training to a model of mass individualization. At the same time, agricultural universities should become a platform for integrating not only scientific institutions and agricultural producers, but also high-tech companies in the domestic industry. A set of organizational and economic measures has been developed and proposed to implement in economic practice the conceptual directions of innovative development of the agricultural sector of the country, which will create a sustainable, import-independent agro-industrial complex with sufficient financial support from both government and private business.
