Abstract: The article summarizes and develops theoretical provisions that determine the essence, features and types of development in the economy, the ratio of economic growth and development, gives their classification and evaluates measurability. Industry growth is defined by the author as a qualitative or quantitative progressive progressive nature of changes in the industry system or its structural elements due to the improvement of technologies, changes in products, organizations and institutions, the flow of information at optimal resource costs in the process of production activities. Assessment of the change in the sectoral structure by economic entities and types of products will make it possible to characterize the development of agriculture as progressive, to note the improvement in the quality of development manifested in the growth of wages of workers and the profitability of agricultural organizations. Sectoral growth will also be characterized by business demographics.
