Abstract: Of the three subjects of the Russian Federation that are part of the Greater Altai (the Altai Republic, the Tyva Republic and the Altai Territory), only the Altai Territory plays a significant role in the export of Russian plant-based products. Therefore, the paper presents the results of the analysis of the dynamics and structure of world exports of the main technologically related groups of plant-based products to the countries of the Greater Altai, as well as the exports of the Russian Federation and the Altai Territory, as a border region that is part of the Greater Altai and specializes in the production of these products. The article substantiates the need to assess the prospects for regional exports of plant-based products not only by industry, but also by product groups participating in the same value chain. A step-by-step analysis of the dynamics of global, national and regional exports of plant products to the countries of Greater Altai made it possible to substantiate the prospects for exporting plant products to the countries of Greater Altai and to identify problem areas requiring attention for the Altai Territory.
