Abstract: In the structure of the volume of production of the main types of agricultural products in the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass, the share of peasant farms, including individual entrepreneurs, in 2023 amounted to 16.2%. A feature characteristic of the development of peasant farms in the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass, is the predominance of the crop industry over animal husbandry. In addition, the share of peasant farms in the total volume of sown areas over the past years has remained at the same level and amounts to about 45%, which allows us to conclude that agricultural producers in this category have the potential to increase production while increasing efficiency. In animal husbandry, the situation is negative, which increases the risks associated with ensuring the availability of food and achieving rational consumption standards. To assess the role of peasant farms in the development of an industrial-type region, factors have been systematized and the main directions have been identified to ensure the development of the regional economy. Among the main positive results are: an increase in quality agricultural products; filling regional and local food markets with fresh and diverse products; sustainable and environmentally friendly production.
