Abstract: The article presents the results of research for 2022-2023 on the use of biological and chemical insecticides against cotton scoops on corn crops at the scientific and production sites of the Plant protection Laboratory of the Agricultural Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, located in the steppe zone of the CBD. It is known that the cotton scoop is one of the most common pests of the steppe zone, the caterpillars of which significantly harm corn crops, reducing its yield. In this regard, the use of new generation insecticide drugs is becoming especially relevant. It was found that the greatest biological efficiency was noted in the variants using the bioinsecticides Lepidocide, SK and Bioslip BT (2 times) and amounted to 78.1 and 75.0%, the value of the stored yield was 1.2 and 0.6 t/ha, respectively. The conditional net income for these options amounted to 27.65 and 25.26 thousand rubles/ha. The greatest biological efficiency in the treatment with chemical insecticides was revealed in the variants Voliam Flexi, CE and Avant, CE – 93.7 and 97.0%, respectively. The value of the stored yield was 1.6 and 1.2 t/ha. The conditional net income was at the level of 31.24 and 37.53 thousand. rub/ha.
