Abstract: In the context of recent global challenges, the issue of improving state support for agriculture for the purpose of its sustainable development is a pressing scientific problem. The objective of the study is to analyze the policy of state support for the regional agricultural sector and offer scientifically based recommendations for its improvement in the context of digitalization. The research methods were the analysis of the normative legal regulation of the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Sverdlovsk region and data from reports on the production and financial activities of agricultural organizations in the region. It was found that working in conditions of underfunding of the program (based on the results of 2022-2023), it was possible to achieve high indicators for a number of program implementation efficiency indicators. The gross vegetable harvest in 2023 was 14.6% higher than the planned program indicators. Gross milk production in 2022 was 6.9% higher than the indicative values, and 7.8% higher in 2023. Labor productivity in agriculture is 39.7% higher than the planned indicators of the 2022 program, and 44.6% higher in 2023. The existing shortcomings of the program include its weak focus on the introduction of digital technologies to ensure sustainable development of agriculture. Specific recommendations are given for improving the policy of state support for the agricultural sector of the region.
