Abstract: The article considers the suburbs of milk production; the main measures are determined and supported by state. The role of state support in the intensification of milk production, the development of regional agro -food systems and rural areas is shown. Among all directions of state support for the industry, direct payments for the production and sale of milk of milk processing enterprises are of key importance. In the whole country, state support was 1.58 roubles per 1 kg of 1 kg of sale in 2020, which is 23.4% higher than 2018. Regional features have been established that determine the amount of allocated funds from the budgets of subjects in the framework of co-financing. Disbalance of subsidizing dairy cattle breeding, due to budgetary limitation and priorities of the development of the agro -industrial complex of the region, have been identified. Based on the analysis, measures are proposed to increase the effectiveness of state support for the industry aimed at developing its investment attractiveness and modernization, which allow you to form a modern production base and increase the production of finished dairy products.
