Abstract: In the article, the authors implemented an assessment of the role of food security institutions in the context of new socio-economic effects. The subject of the study was socio-economic institutions and their role in the management and food security system in the context of the spread of corona virus infection SARS-CoV-2 and all its strains (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Omicron) and variants (Eta, Lambda and Mu). The scientific hypothesis of the study is that the effective management of socio-economic institutions in the food security system at all levels correlates with the quality of food security and national independence. Based on the methodology of institutional economics and tools, the authors analyzed the hierarchy of socio-economic institutions and their role in solving key food security issues. The identified patterns and analysis data illustrated the practice and dynamics of regulatory construction of the food security system in the context of the spread of corona virus infection.
