Abstract: The states of many countries undertake the measures directed to pollution abatement of the environment, climate change, social and economic problems, choosing a course towards sustainable development. So, in a number of the countries, ecological and social innovations were included in number of priorities of national strategy. In turn, it promoted emergence and application of ESG of practice. ESG is a set of criteria, for assessment of investment attractiveness in the field of sustainable development. In article the application ESG experts in Russia from business to regions is considered. Authors use of criteria of ESG in relation to rural territories is offered for what experience of development and the use of complex quality criterions of life and hospitality used for selection of the members by Association of the most beautiful villages and towns of Russia which entered the list of best practices of sustainable development of Smarteka ASYA [8] is taken as a basis. In a research it is also noted that the selection criteria in Association adapted for ESG can be applicable in rural territories, as for local communities. and for the business which decided to support the project of sustainable development. At the same time it should be noted that they are quantitatively measurable and have star rating, yield the perceived and visualized result.
