Abstract: Recently, among the many factors of sustainable development of the agrarian economy, a special place has been given to agricultural cooperation. Consumer cooperation is one of the main ways to satisfy the needs of the subjects of cooperation directly, as well as an institutional means of creating jobs in the countryside, an effective tool of the "social economy", optimally combining the advantages of individual production and large agribusiness. Therefore, research in the field of agricultural cooperation is relevant. The purpose of the study was to assess the efficiency of agricultural consumer cooperatives in the Ulyanovsk region using various criteria and indicators. The results of the evaluation of the effectiveness of agricultural consumer cooperatives of the Ulyanovsk region showed that 7 cooperatives (15.9%) have average values of the integral performance index, 4 cooperatives (9%) are unprofitable, and the remaining 75% or 33 cooperatives have a low level of efficiency.
