Abstract: Competition is one of the important requirements for the development of any branch of the national economy and improving its efficiency, but its importance is especially great in agriculture. Modern methods of assessing competitiveness involve the use of qualitative indicators characterizing the position of the organization on the market, the market share occupied, the level of product quality, the level of use and use of modern and new technologies. More in-depth analysis allows for more effective measures to improve organizational performance. The article analyzed the main economic results of agricultural organizations of the Ulyanovsk region, conducted a combination grouping of municipal districts on the efficiency of agricultural production, market potential, and identified the main directions of their development for the future. Cherdaklinsky and Ulyanovsk municipal districts are the leading in terms of market share in agricultural production and its high growth rate.
