Abstract: The article, based on the study of the current state of small-scale producers in the Kyrgyz Republic and the analysis of the agrarian structure, reveals the directions of support and development of agricultural production and cooperation. The current structure of production by category of farms, the low level of merchandise and the old nature of production in peasant farms and self-consumption-oriented households constrain the solution of the tasks defined by the National Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2018-2040 years. The decrease in the number of agricultural production cooperatives was due to a number of negative factors, including the levy of value added tax on large farms under the new Tax Code. The results of the study were proposals for the creation of a National Centre for the Development of Agriculture, Logistics and Cooperation, the formation of cooperative trade and logistics centres for agricultural products, and support for farms.
