Abstract: In the context of globalization and the realization of the concept of "big challenges," strategic solutions aimed at the scientific and technological development of Russia’s agro-industrial complex and its competitiveness in international agro-food markets are becoming increasingly relevant. This article (on the example of the Tambov region) shows the role and importance of the creation of innovative regional scientific and technological centres, the activities of which are aimed at overcoming the technological lag of the Russian agricultural complex and the systematic development of domestic agrarian science.
