Abstract: The results of the conducted research indicate that the organizational and economic mechanism for the development of industrial horticulture on an innovative basis does not function with due completeness. There are failures in its main elements - organizational and managerial, technical and technological, financial and economic, motivational and legal. Currently, he is very weakly opposed to new challenges. Thus, the share of imports of fruits and berries in the consumer market is still 73‰, self-sufficiency in fruits and berries of the country's population is 25‰, in other words, and food safety criteria for this type of food are certainly not met. The financial and economic block does not increase the investment attractiveness of this unique industry. In the present article, from the standpoint of finding more efficient forms of management and innovative development of the horticulture industry, the experience is summarized, the creation of the innovative science and technology centre "Michurinskaya Dolina", whose production projects planned for implementation are aimed at strengthening the interaction of science with the real economy, increasing the innovation activity of enterprises, and the competitiveness of Russian products on world markets.
