Abstract: The research objective is to analyse possibilities of development of agriculture, including taking into account the resources provided by the state projects directed to the decision strategic problems of development of the country. The article deals with the problem of accelerating the growth of agricultural production and agro food exports in Russia. The dynamics of development of agriculture in Russia is analyzed in comparison with different countries. Presented for discussion government projects aimed to achieve the strategic objectives of the development of the country in the medium term are considered. The proposals are given including the assessment of the growth potential of agricultural production in Russia and the risks that may limit its development.
