Abstract: Increase in efficiency of protection of agricultural producers against risks of loss of a harvest has to be based on application of index insurance products which basis the indicators received with use of technologies of space monitoring and remote sensing of the earth are. In article experience of application of data of remote sensing of the earth is considered, the analysis of comparability of indicators of statistical productivity to data of the vegetative index for identification of expediency of development of index insurance products in agriculture is given. It is offered to use the normalized differential vegetative index as a predictor of productivity, a basic indicator at index insurance of a harvest of crops. Improvement of a technique of development of index products and creation of model of implementation of insurance payments, the most precisely corresponding to the actual damage of the insurer, is the perspective direction of researches in the field of increase in efficiency of instruments of minimization of risks in agriculture.
