Abstract: In the modern history of Russia, the problem of food security has become one of the key. In the early 90-ies of the last century, Russia's economy has been unable to provide the population with even a minimum set of food, which naturally opened up the Russian market to imports. Only in the early 2000s with the adoption of a decision on the implementation of the priority national project "Development of agriculture" has become the dominant view of the development of domestic agricultural production. The measures defined by Presidential Decree of August 6, 2014 №560 "On the application of certain special economic measures in order to ensure the security of the Russian Federation" and on June 24, 2015 №320 "On the extension of certain special economic measures in order to ensure safety Russian Federation "actualized the need to reduce the volume of imports of agricultural products and food production through the development of domestic counter parts in order to ensure food security of Russia. In this article the analysis of existing scientific approaches to the list of factors of food security of Russia, and also the author's characterizeе the nature and content of major groups of considered factors, including military and military-economic.
