Abstract: The analysis of a current state of production of wine and grapes in Russia and Stavropol Krai is made, the major factors which had essential impact on development of branch during the period since 2000 are investigated. The branch of production of wine and grapes is considered from a position of two of its components - cultivation of grapes and its further processing on wine materials for the purpose of production of alcoholic products. The analysis of gross vintage on regions of edge showed uneven development of areas within their reference to 6 traditionally allocated cultivation zones. Therefore there was a need of carrying out typological group of areas on grapes output taking into account dynamics of gross collecting from 2000 on 2013 on 4 groups on a level of development. Therefore two main regions of Stavropol Krai - Budenovsky and Levokumsky areas of which not less than 67‰ of gross vintage for the studied period are the share were allocated. The conclusion that the alcoholic industry of Russia is the dynamic and developing branch, even despite decrease in production of alcohol in 2013 which is caused by toughening of legislative control of production and realization of alcohol by Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation, and also the pursued tax policy regarding excises is drawn. Continuation of decrease in outputs and a reshaping of productions on production of hard alcoholic beverages on the basis of ethyl alcohol is supposed further.
