Abstract: Based on these studies, the article considers the methodological basis for identification of promising directions of innovation activity in agriculture, the criteria of evaluation of specific directions of innovative activity, the proposed system of indicators to determine the effectiveness of introduction of scientific and technical development, highlighted the principles of substantiation of perspective directions of innovation activity, as well as measures to facilitate its rapid development. We consider the direction of stimulating innovative activity in agriculture. Justification of methodology of formation of organizational and economic mechanism of innovative system of AIC will give the opportunity to intensify the innovative activity on the Federal and regional levels; to clarify the conceptual apparatus associated with the essence, content, factors and directions of development of organizational-economic mechanism of innovative system of AIC; develop a strategy for promoting innovation in the agricultural sector of the country. Implementation of the proposed measures on acceleration of innovative activity in agriculture will promote the further development of agricultural production, improve its efficiency and productivity growth in the industry.
